The main-event of UFC 200 between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones was supposed to take place at UFC197, but after Cormier pulled out, it was rescheduled for 200. Jones comes into this match as the favourite, having changed his lifestyle and seemingly in the best fighting shape of his career. Jones wasn’t particularly impressive in his first fight back against Ovince Saint Preux, but he did defeat Cormier in their previous bout. While he may not have impressed against Preux, Jones still comes in as the favourite based on what people expect him to be capable of. By comparison, Cormier has had a nice run of wins of late and has a strong recent record that Jones, who needs to prove himself again, doesn’t have.
Jones comes into the fight with advantages in reach, height, age and speed which, on paper, makes him seem like the clear choice, but Cormier is better than the odds are giving him credit for and whether Jones can perform at the top level again is still a valid question.
