While I think the Adelaide Strikers will win the season the Perth Scorchers are on a winning streak and I intend on riding their wave with my bets. They might be ranked second but they have been playing brilliantly the past several weeks except when facing Adelaide. It’s like the Adelaide strikers have some crazy intuition when playing the Perth Scorchers this season. For the Scorchers to have a chance at winning the championship they’ll need to look at practicing and implementing a different strategy specifically designed for the Strikers. I’m sure they’ve realized that by now after losing to them a couple times already this season.

I don’t think Mark De Mori has much of a chance at all. Just like you mentioned, David Haye will be dancing around until De Mori gets tired and that’s when Haye will turn on the heavy punches. In heavyweight fights the fighters get tired way faster too so De Mori has a pretty small window to get in a knockout punch and you’re talking about delivering a knockout punch to one of the greatest fighters. I like Mark De Mori, but I just don’t see how he will win this fight.

While I’ve generally tried to move into other basketball leagues for my betting the NBA is one of the easier places to make money because I find there are less surprises. I always follow the top 3 teams. Mostly because they are the easiest to get news and coverage on. I can find stats for any site but I don’t want to have to dig to find out who’s injured and what’s happening on the bench.

I’ve been watching mostly Golden State, Spurs, and Raptors myself.

How many of you are generally betting on middle to low ranking teams? I can’t seem to find good numbers for middle ranking teams that let me justify betting on most of their games. Maybe you blokes have a better system?

I’m betting on Melbourne United unless I find good odds for Perth. I honestly can’t believe that the Sydney Kings beat Melbourne last month. When does the worst team beat the best team in any sport? Needless to say plenty of us went home with empty pockets that day. I like betting on basketball because the stats are usually consistent with the win but every once in a while you get results like what we saw last month.
Honestly, after last months performance against Sydney and with the slump Melbourne United is experiencing you’ll start to see better odds on Melbourne United even though they are the best team. So in some ways it’s a good thing they lost. Melbourne has already beaten the majority of the other major contenders in the rankings so they have already proven themselves a good team. Every team has an off night once in a while.
Melbourne will be playing the Cairnes next. With the narrow victory over the Hawks I don’t think it’s a sure win but I do believe they’ll win and you should get some acceptable odds out of the bookmakers as a result.
